BROOKLYN, NY – A new 100-unit affordable housing building has opened in Brownsville, Brooklyn, offering much-needed housing for low-income families and individuals.

Brownsville is one of the most impoverished neighborhoods in New York City, with nearly 40% of residents living below the poverty line. The neighborhood has long struggled with a lack of affordable housing, making it difficult for low-income families to find suitable and stable housing.
The Rise: A Step towards Affordable Living
The newly opened building, called The Rise, is located on NYCHA land and includes 179 units ranging from one to three bedrooms. Of these units, 31 are set aside for NYCHA residents, and 54 are designated as supportive housing for formerly homeless individuals.
