Blues Fire Head Coach Craig Berube
Emotional Jordan Kyrou Speaks Out
Former Coach's Impact and What's Next
ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Just over 24 hours after the Blues fired Craig Berube, winger Jordan Kyrou spoke to reporters in the locker room after a win.
The 25-year-old was emotional, admitting that it hurt to hear the fans turn on him. Blues general manager Doug Armstrong said he has no problems with Kyrou.
Kyrou was one of the players Berube pushed and prodded during his six seasons as head coach. Kyrou admitted that Berube's firing was tough to take.
"He was a big part of my development," Kyrou said. "I learned a lot from him, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to have played for him."
Kyrou said he's not sure what the future holds for him, but he's excited to work with new coach Drew Bannister.
"He's a great coach," Kyrou said. "I'm looking forward to learning from him and helping this team win."
